What does it mean to be low or high in energy?

If your energy is low, you quickly feel tired, gloomy or lethargic. You might feel stuck in the daily grind of life or experience anxiety due to work pressure. Another indicator of being in low energy is also when you are not achieving your personal or professional goals or find it difficult to give someone a compliment.

It's easier to see things negatively. You're like a sponge, and you attract negative events more easily. It's like Murphy's law.

You end up in a downward spiral that is increasingly difficult to get out of. It's the same with a burnout, you sink deeper and deeper into it. And that is why it is so important to break through this and increase your energy and keep it high.

So being high in energy, what does that mean? And how do you do it?

First of all, it is important to know what the causes of low energy are. And by energy I mean your life force, life energy, your vitality. The concept of vitality is derived from the Latin 'vita' which means life. Below I will list the causes of low energy, a lack of energy.

Causes of low energy

If there is structurally little energy, these are the main causes:

  • You have long-term stress

  • An overactive vagus nerve, an overstimulated nervous system

  • There's an underlying trauma stuck in your body

  • You are in the wrong environment with the wrong people

  • You can't say no and are a people pleaser

  • You're in your head too much

  • Too little relaxation

  • You need too much of yourself.

  • You don’t take full leadership in your life and do the things you want or love to do.

Being high in your energy

Maybe you think, I don't need to be so high in energy. Because then I'm always on and I'm always busy and don’t have peace. This is what many people think of when they think of high energy. However, in reality this works completely differently.

First of all, being high in energy does not mean you become busier or more on. On the contrary, it also does not mean that you no longer have peace or balance. In fact, you actually become more productive in a quiet way when your energy is high. I list the benefits of being high in energy below.

Becoming high in energy is a process, but you can start making changes by identifying what’s pulling you into the low energy vibration. It can be people around you, but also thought patterns that you have created that consistently belittle you and keep you small.
